Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
HaloDock works on your Mac. We never see what's in your widgets. This page explains the small amount of data we do handle.
What we collect when you buy
- Your email address, to send your activation code and help you with your purchase.
- What you paid, in which currency, the country you bought from, and the Dodo Payments payment ID.
You enter your card or UPI details on Dodo Payments' checkout page. They don't reach us.
What we collect when you activate
- Your activation code, which we store only in scrambled form.
- An anonymous ID for your Mac, made from its hardware ID so that the original can't be worked out.
- Your Mac's name, so you can recognise it if you ask us for help.
- When it was activated and when it last checked your licence, which happens about once a week.
To stop abuse, we briefly keep a scrambled form of IP addresses and email addresses to limit repeated attempts.
Who handles this data for us
- Dodo Payments is our merchant of record. It takes your payment, handles tax and sends your receipt, under its own privacy policy.
- Vercel and Cloudflare host our website. Cloudflare also hosts our licence server and database.
- Resend delivers our emails.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers on our site. The site loads its font from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it does.
What stays on your Mac
Your settings, notes, todos, files, calendar, reminders, music and usage figures stay on your Mac and aren't sent to us. macOS asks for your permission before HaloDock can use things like your calendar, location or Bluetooth.
Services widgets contact
Some widgets fetch information directly from another service. That service sees your IP address and what was asked for, and we don't receive any of it.
- Weather: Open-Meteo, using your location or the city you choose.
- Markets and currency: CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance and ExchangeRate-API, for what you choose to follow or convert.
- Bookmarks: the sites you bookmark, for their name and icon.
- Music: the artwork service for the song that's playing.
AI usage widget
If you use this widget, HaloDock reads usage logs that Claude Code, Codex and Cursor keep on your Mac. To show your Claude limits, it also reads Claude Code's sign-in from your Mac's Keychain, after macOS asks for your permission, and uses it to ask Anthropic for your limits. Your sign-in goes only to Anthropic, and is never sent to us.
How long we keep data
We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence exists and as long as the law requires for financial records. When you deactivate a Mac, we delete its activation record.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@halodock.in. Deleting your licence record means your activation code stops working. We may need to keep some financial records.
Who to contact
HaloDock is based in India. For privacy questions or complaints, email support@halodock.in.
